Tweed is everywhere! When I think about tweed Chanel comes to mind. Coco Chanel introduced tweed styles back in the 1920s, but the fabric is arguably one of the fashion house’s signature pieces. It’s also been suggested that this fabric is exclusively reserved for the fall and winter as we saw in the fall/winter 2019-2020 fashion trends on the Chanel runway aplenty and other major names like Gucci. Tweed appeared in lineups from the outerwear to classic office-ready skirt suits to pants to romantic dresses.
I have to admit that I was not particularly sold on this trend. Like a lot of people, I’ve been one to shy away from anything that falls under the “grandma style” umbrella in fashion. I recently started styling tweed jackets and dress in modern looks and discovered a new found love for this fabric. Don’t worry, you do not need to buy the O.G. Chanel version to try this trend (I cannot afford it either). I combed the internet and found a quite a few affordable pieces by SHEIN.
